Linden police have hopes for continued success in reducing crime and criminal activity in 2023

Linden Police Station Commander Shaid Abdool wishes the community well for the new year and encourages residents and businesses to work with the CPF.

He said last year the station successfully reduced crime in most categories and he anticipates this trend to continue. “The successful cooperation between the police, CPF, private security companies, and other stakeholders has created a common purpose resulting in a reduction of criminal activity.”

The expanded and improved service to the community has had a huge impact on effective and visible policing. “The recent CPF elections have seen a committed and competent body elected who serve the precinct with pride and ability. Under the leadership of Annelize Tichauer we are in safe hands.”

He said their contributions are incalculable through the victim support unit, the up-and-coming community patrollers programme and other outputs which assist residents and local businesses.

Abdool said they would be focusing on schools and the youth keenly this year as a key target group to bring into the policing community.
