Class of 2022 matriculant looks forward to university

Matric class of 2022 student Mathew Ridley share his hopes and dreams

Matthew Ridley writes:

My results were alright, I was not too happy with my maths and physical Science but otherwise, it went pretty well.
I did well in geography, life orientation and information technology. I’m planning to study at Wits this year, hopefully, electrical engineering if I get in.

I thought matric was going to be difficult because post-matric learners had told me that it was going to be bad. I thought I was going to struggle a lot but I did not find it that bad. The prelims helped a lot for finals, they were much harder and they encouraged us to study more.

I can’t wait for university to start, I know it’s going to be lots of fun and a lot of work but it will be enjoyable. I was nervous at the beginning of the year thinking about what lay ahead but it’s all in the Lord’s hands now and I’m not too worried about it. I know everything will work out the way it is meant to.

I would like to advise 2023 matric learners to keep their heads down from the beginning of the year and don’t play around. That’s what I did and it came back to haunt me when I had to study the night before an exam, I had to relearn everything that night.
