Windsor Community Support members share the importance of cleaning Windsor
Windsor Community Support Services workers talk about the importance of cleaning and maintaining the community
As the Windsor Community Support Services (WCSS) aims to improve their area and restore Windsor (East and West) to a suburb that the residents can be proud of they have schedules of everyday maintenance and clean-ups of the streets and parks in Windsor.
Randburg Sun asked the members of the WCSS why it’s important for WCSS to clean up and maintain Windsor, parks, and streets.
This is what they had to say…..
Our purpose is clean and keep the whole of Windsor clean for our kids. The streets and parks need to be taken care of and enjoyed by everyone that is why it’s important for us to work and create a healthy and clean environment.
It’s important to keep our environment clean so that everyone can feel like they are at home and it will look better not like it’s a place for alcohol and drugs. These parks, especially, are places to rest and for kids to play and for families to come and enjoy them. That is why it’s important that we try to clean up until we reach that phase. We want to clean these places and also inspire others to do the same.
We want to keep the environment clean especially our parks because kids need to be out and active and socialise. So it’s important to clean these parks for them. Also, we want to make a change in Windsor and try to create a safe and clean environment because this is our community and it is not in a good condition.
This work we’re doing is important to us as members of the community because we need to teach others that we need to take care of Windsor as a whole. Our parks and streets need to be cleaned and as a community, we need to step up and change things in Windsor.
