The King’s School Robin Hills learners share their thoughts on spray-a-thon event
Learners and teachers supported the spray-a-thon event by colouring their hair to raise funds for people living with cancer at The King's School Robin Hills
Hanna Mol: The Cansa sprayathon is very important to support those who are suffering from cancer and we also raise funds to donate to the cancer foundation. The love and support go a long way. Many people can't afford treatment so the little we give will surely help them.
The King’s School Robin Hills held a sprayathon to raise funds for cancer. The learners sprayed their hair in an array of colours.Randburg Sun asked learners why they think a sprayathon event and raising funds for people with cancer is important.
This is what they had to say…
Thoshar Naidu: We are spraying the students’ hair, using different bright colours to raise awareness for cancer, which is a very good cause. To get your hair sprayed, you donate some money and that money goes to the cancer foundation to help people who have cancer with treatment.Amyoli Kondlo: Over time, a lot of people have lost their humanity and to care for other people. I feel it is important to acknowledge those who are struggling and also to donate and help where we can because it goes to a good cause.Daniel Brown: We do this because people and institutions need to play their part in raising funds to help fight cancer and this is one of the ways to do it and it is all for a good cause.Jesse Suremann: Being able to raise money for cancer awareness is an incredible thing and me having a couple of friends who have lost a parent or someone to cancer, it’s an important cause. We need to realise how great an impact it can make if we even donate as little as R25 and do something cool like spraying our hair.Melissa Theron: Sprayathon is for raising money for people with cancer and if you feel like it you can also shave your hair to show support and to raise awareness.
