From hand-painted ornaments, pancakes and candy floss to clothing and even biltong jam made by comedian Chris Forrest, The Local Market had it all.
The market was hosted by Blairgowrie Primary School for the fourth time on May 6, and once again acted as a fundraiser, with the market sharing a portion of proceeds with the school. Some learners even helped run stalls.
“Many small businesses are still finding their feet after Covid-19 so this is a way we can give back to the community, to help them make an income,” said principal Charmaine Vartharajaloo. “It is also great for making relathionships with community members.”
She and market co-organiser Tabitha Forrest called the day a great success, and thanked the hundreds of people who came through, for their support. Forrest said the next market will be in December.
