King’s School Robin Hills learners prepare breakfast for parents

Thandi Theron said that in the days before the breakfast learners completed a basic baking course that equipped them to bake a loaf of bread.

Even though breakfast is the most essential meal of the day, the parents who attended the Grade 10 hospitality studies breakfast felt extra proud because they were able to indulge in the buffet their kids had prepared.

The breakfast was hosted by Grade 10 students from The King’s School Robin Hills as part of their hospitality studies practical assessment.

“This was their first experience and they performed well. It was all unfamiliar to them. However, with guidance from teachers, they were able to fulfil their duties and roles.”

She added that learners were happy and satisfied with the final outcome of what they had to prepare.

Learner Michaella Nxumalo said that it was hard preparing at first because everything was not going the way it was supposed to.

“It was intense in the kitchen, but we pushed through, and we did what we were supposed to do. We worked as a team and we bonded to make the event a success and I am happy parents enjoyed our food.”

The learners did not disappoint as parents could not stop talking about the breakfast.
