Lina Marakalla talks about the impact of social media
Social media networks have both positive and negative aspects.
Lina Marakalla writes about how social media is impacting society:
I think social media has revolutionised communication by allowing people to interact with each other regardless of geographical boundaries. It has made things way easier for people to stay in touch with friends, families, and colleagues, fostering a sense of connectivity and community.
Social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter have changed the way people consume news and information, which I think is vital because it enables individuals to share stories and opinions, often in real time.

I also like the fact that it has given people a voice to express their views, thoughts, and experiences. Especially when people are scammed, social media platforms can serve as a tool for people to advise the victims.
Not forgetting the power it has in boosting small businesses and assisting them to reach a greater audience.

Even though social media has a significant impact on society, it can also lead to addiction, cyberbullying, stalking and privacy concerns, and the spreading of fake information.
Therefore, users should keep an eye on how they use it, and how much time they spend on it, what kind of personal information they share, and not forget to assess the information that they take in.
