Kaden reflects on his journey in Poland

Kaden Brownley advised passionate dancers to never stop pushing themselves and practising because dance is the most amazing thing ever, and it will change your life.

Kaden Brownley reflects on his journey to represent South Africa.

He writes:

Wow, being chosen to represent my country was like a dream come true and such an honour for me. Getting to wave my flag on an international stage was just next-level awesome. Becoming a Protea dancer has totally transformed my whole dance game. It is like I have levelled up in my dance career as well.

I could not believe how amazing Poland is. Who would have thought I would be jetting off to another country to show off my moves for my home country. Poland has got it all – amazing sights, incredible culture and some great vibes.

Dancing abroad is a whole different ballgame. Their style was so unexpected and different and I learnt a lot. It was mind-blowing. It is like I have unlocked this whole new perspective and techniques that I never even knew existed. It has changed me in ways I never thought possible.

Dance is my everything, it is my life. The studio is my safe haven, my go-to place, and my escape. It is like this magical force that helps me express my true self. No matter what life throws at me, dance is always there to help me get through it. It is my ultimate form of self-expression. You get to meet the real you.

They really mean it when they say practice makes perfect. I have put in some serious sweat and tears to get where I am today. It has taken years of grinding and hustling, but look at me now – I represented my country on the world stage. If I can do it, anyone can.
