Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to an accident on South Africa Drive in Cosmo City after a vehicle plunged into a river.

“On arrival on the scene, a light motor vehicle was found to have left the roadway and plunged into a river.

“The driver, a middle-aged woman, was extricated by Fire and Rescue Services, however, she showed no signs of life and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics,” confirmed Emer-G-Med’s national spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen.

All relevant authorities were on the scene.
