200 families benefit from church outreach programme

Some of the items in the food parcels were cooking oil, sugar, maize meal and rice.

In a remarkable display of community service, the New Life Global Church, based in Kya Sand, in partnership with the Tancredi Foundation, orchestrated a significant outreach programme, targeting the elderly and disabled residents of Cosmo City.

The initiative was spearheaded by Dr Miz Mzwakhe Tancredi and Charisma Tancredi, who are at the forefront of charitable activities both in South Africa and internationally.

The collaboration managed to distribute essential food parcels and financial aid, benefiting over 200 families within the community. This act of kindness not only provided needed resources but also brought joy and hope to the recipients, signifying the profound impact of community solidarity.

New Life Spokesperson Bayanda Maseko explained that it is the responsibility of the church to take care of the community’s needs as a beacon of hope in society.

“The church must play its part and be the light in dark times, and as New Life Global we have communicated ourselves to be that light in the dark times. We are always seeking to help the underprivileged communities, bridging the poverty gap, and being of service.”

The people responded with excitement, joy and appreciation to the church for assisting them at this point of need.

“The response has also brought the attention of other local municipal leaders and other organisations who were touched by the work we did and has resulted in many contacting us to applaud the work we do and interest to partner with the foundation has increased immensely.”

Through the partnership they are aiming to extend their reach to even more families in need around Randburg. This plan includes a series of phases designed to address different community needs, following the successful event in Cosmo City.

“We will visit other communities in and around the Randburg area. As we are based in Randburg we aim to reach as many communities as possible around, which is Cosmo City mainly, Lion Park and other poverty-stricken areas around Randburg.”

The programme is structured to unfold in three phases. The initial phase focused on distributing groceries and financial assistance to the elderly, setting a positive tone for the following activities. The subsequent phase, dubbed ‘Fuel on God’, aims to alleviate the financial burden on motorists by providing free petrol vouchers, fostering community spirit and supporting local businesses.

The final stage will see the distribution of essential supplies to orphanages and child-headed homes, further showcasing the organisations’ commitment to nurturing the well-being of vulnerable groups.

“This effort underscores the power of collaborative philanthropy in making a significant difference in the lives of many. New Life Global Church and the Tancredi Foundation extend their heartfelt gratitude to all contributors and invite the wider community to join them in their ongoing charitable endeavours,” added Maseko.
