3RC’s Rocking Future Career Expo visits Newton House School

With their latest stop, Newton House School, the Rocking Future Career Expo is changing the lives of school goers soon to enter the work force.

The Rocking Future Career Expo visited Newton House School in Boskruin to teach learners about opportunities that await them once they leave school.

The Rocking Future Career Expo is helping South African school leavers to choose the best career path, to develop their skills and find employment in a country with a critically high youth unemployment rate.

For 24 years, 3RC, the company behind the career expo, has been helping South African high school students to discover exciting opportunities after school.

Through the career expo, the 3RC team, together with a top-class selection of tertiary educational organisations, help students to understand the options available, and to decide what career suits their personality, skills, and ambitions.

In 2024, the 3RC team spent five incredible months touring South Africa with their Rocking Future Career Expo. Kay Cheytanov, 3RC founder, explained that this journey was nothing short of spectacular.

“The level of engagement from learners and educators exceeded our expectations. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, arming the expo’s role in shaping future careers.”

The 2025 Rocking Future Career Expo has kicked off with a bang, and is currently taking place at high schools across Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The tours will continue to inspire students in high schools across Pretoria, the East Rand, and KwaZulu-Natal, between January and May.

Students at Newton House School were buzzing with excitement, as they learnt about all the opportunities available to them.

Learner Kayla Szalay said: “I found it very inspiring; it was very interesting to watch. I got a whole new perspective of what’s going on and where I’m going to go and a whole new view.”

Cheytanov explained that in April, they will share a link to their website where schools can nominate one outstanding Grade 11 student from their school.

“The top 20 nominees from across South Africa will be in for a treat. They will receive bursaries from leading private tertiary institutions plus other fantastic prizes.”
