As much as some runners took the race seriously, some entered for the fun side of it. The event saw people dress up according to the theme, with fairy wings, bunny ears, tutus and hearts in abundance.

The race began at Randburg Sports Complex, and JMPD, SAPS and Harriers volunteers ensured the safety of the runners along the route. It went up and down the hills of Randburg, including the infamous Silver Pine Avenue and Maria Street, and then back to the club on Malibongwe Drive and Republic Road.
After the race, there were food and drinks stalls at the club, and participants were treated to live music.
