Johannesburg tennis players have delivered outstanding performances at the 2025 ITF Masters World Team Championships, reaching the women’s 45+ final after defeating top competitors.

Three outstanding Johannesburg Masters tennis players served aces at the 2025 ITF Masters World Team Championships in the women’s 45+ category, delivering remarkable performances on the global stage.

Yolande Faver and Danielle Moffat kicked off their campaign in the first week with a hard-fought match against third-seeded France, narrowly missing victory. However, the South African team showed resilience, bouncing back to claim dominant wins against Portugal, Austria, and Switzerland, finishing the week in 9th position.

The ITF Masters World Team Championships is an annual event that brings together top veteran tennis players worldwide to compete in various age categories. National teams face off in a series of matches, testing their skills, endurance, and teamwork on the international stage.

In the second week of the competition, the unseeded duo of Moffat and Faver stunned the competition by defeating the second seed in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, they then lost to the top-seeded Netherlands team in the final.
