The How to Her Brunch event aimed at creating an everlasting impact on women who might be interested in running their own businesses, and also for those who are already in the business industry.

The organisation is all about equipping young girls from the age of 13 to 24 with the right tools, support, and opportunities they might need when starting their own business, which will enable them to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives. They believe that by focusing on these key developmental years, they are creating a solid foundation that will help with their future success in the community.

Content creator, influencer, and guest speaker at the event Tumelo Moliko said: “If you want to be in the business industry, it is important to build a relationship with humans. You don’t always have to dance on Tik Tok or make jokes, you can simply make a video of yourself explaining the products that you sell. That alone will help you in engaging with your target market.”

The event included of a 20-minute break, where attendees were advised to mingle, as well as view the stalls that were outside, possibly asking business owners questions.

Business owner and CEO of The Mane Influence Mckayla Phillips explained that she had to sacrifice a lot in order for her to have her business up and running. “I used to have a job, and would save up a certain amount of money every month, denying myself things that I thought were not important. Now, I run a business where we sell hair extensions, and also lingerie, to women at affordable prices.”

In the second half of the event, attendees learnt how to send proper emails when writing to a potential investor, or drafting their business proposals.

The restaurant was fully packed with women who want to be in business.

Founder of the Inside Out Girls’ Campaign Imani Ndaba said: “We have channeled ourselves to create a space where women can learn about business for free, and be able to network with other women, to, most certainly, get inspired by one another. We are glad to see the number of people who are here. It shows that a lot of them definitely want to become business moguls.”

The event left a lot of young women feeling inspired and ready to conquer the world of business. “We fall, then we rise again,’’ were the words of the day, to keep moving.
