The Kings School Robin Hills grounds were buzzing with excitement as parents, teachers and learners enjoyed the annual Spring Day Festival.

The top field featured vendors selling food and drinks, alongside game stalls set up by Grade 7 to 9 learners.

Huge inflatables took over the other side of the field for learners to play on, while a tea garden provided a retreat for those seeking a break from the noise.

Heads of marketing Emma Gessau and Chloe Rugpath explained that the day was important to all learners, particularly those in grades 7 to 9.

“The Spring Day Festival for 2026 is a market day for grades 7, 8 and 9, specifically to make stalls with a specific theme, and they are selling different games to the school,” said Gessau. “The games include sponge throw, toss, football and other different games.

“The grades are competing against each other to try and win and see who has the best stall and raise money as a fundraiser for the school,” she said.

Rugpath said the event generated high energy and excitement.

“People coming together and just spending time with each other was amazing to see,” said Rugpath. “There were a lot of families that showed up, across multiple ages.

The older generation enjoyed tea in our tea garden, and the young kids enjoyed the inflatables. It was definitely a family occasion.”
