CPF public relations officer Michael Steyn said it was a wonderful afternoon of connecting, relaxing, and enjoying each other’s company, without the usual need to stay alert. “It also gave us the chance to meet the families who support our patrollers and victim support members, and make it possible for them to do what they do. We also used this opportunity to express our gratitude to those who dedicate so much of their time to serving our community.”

Steyn thanked three dedicated members of the victim support team: Hanlee Fourie, Pamela Butterworth, and Vera Olivato Smith. “They are the steady presence and comforting support during some of the toughest moments, spending many hours assisting victims of crime. We also extend our appreciation to our top patrollers: Wayne Tippett, Robert Rutherford, and Tony Couto Da Silva. These three contributed the most patrol hours this year, with an impressive, combined total of 655 hours spent safeguarding our neighbourhoods.”

A big thank-you as well to Rumours Lounge for generously providing their venue free of charge, helping make this memorable day possible.”
