'Home of the Year' Methodist Homes of the Aged Garden Village enjoyed 2025 and hopes to have an even better 2026
Methodist Homes Garden Village in Bordeaux look forward to growing even more in the coming year, and their wish is to continue walking the path of kindness, warmth, and care, ensuring that every resident feels truly at home.
Nolo Mafatlha of Methodist Homes reflected in 2025 and shared some of her highlights. The home proudly received the Home of the Year award, a beautiful recognition of their hard work and unwavering commitment to creating a village filled with love, care, and compassion.
She said that they have 13 homes, and being voted Home of the Year is an honour they carry with deep gratitude and humility.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our incredible team and the trust placed in us by our residents and their families, said Mafatlha. “We are grateful to everyone who makes our home such a special place. Here’s to continuing our mission of providing exceptional care and creating a community where everyone feels valued and loved.”
Mafatlha recognised their maintenance team as their heroes for working hard and ensuring that residents are taken care of. “They are the silent guardians of our community; the ones who answer every call from residents with the dedication of Batman and the speed of Flash, no matter the hour, no matter the weather.”

She further stated that even in unexpected emergencies that strike at the worst possible times, they show up, ready, reliable, and always willing to go beyond what is expected.
“They don’t just fix problems, they restore peace of mind. They turn stress into relief, chaos into calm, and frustration into gratitude. Every repaired leak, every restored light, every urgent after-hours call they answer reinforces their commitment to serving our community with pride and heart.”

The home has also faced a few challenges with older properties, which often face significant infrastructure replacements and recurring water ingress. While these issues can be demanding, they remain committed to ensuring that their efforts do not negatively impact the residents’ day-to-day lives.
“Our focus is always on resolving problems efficiently, thoughtfully, and with minimal disruption to the people who call our community home.”
She added that for the coming year, they’re excited to host more events and initiatives that bring together residents and the surrounding community, creating one big, connected family.
“We hope to keep the Home of the Year award in our village for many years to come, not just as a title, but as a reflection of the love and dedication that define us. To our beneficiaries, may this home, its residents, staff, and spirit, continue to warm your hearts and inspire joy.”
