Summerfield Park Retirement Village in Randburg reflected on a truly heartwarming and active 2025.

According to Lee-Ann Benney, a spokesperson for the village: “2025 was a truly heartwarming year for all of us.”

The village was honoured to be named Eden Home of the Year for the second consecutive year. “This recognition reflects the compassion, teamwork, and community spirit that thrives in our village.”

Residents enjoyed a wide variety of activities throughout the year. From sing-alongs and concerts to bring-and-braais, craft mornings, men’s breakfasts, and social evenings, there was never a dull moment.

Benney noted: “Our Heritage Day celebration brought colour, culture, and unity, while our sponsored annual Christmas Lunch and Dinner remained a highlight for everyone.”

The village’s gardens also flourished in 2025. “Thanks to our gardening team and the resident-led garden committee, our gardens added to the peace and welcoming atmosphere Summerfield Park is known for.”

Meeting the diverse interests and social needs of the growing community remained a challenge. “By expanding activities, encouraging resident input, and strengthening our committees, we ensured everyone feels included, engaged, and connected.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Benney shared her wishes for the year: “We hope for continued unity, joy, health, and a deep sense of belonging for every resident and staff member. May Summerfield Park remain a place of comfort, connection, and care.”

To the village’s neighbours, partners, families, and supporters, she extended gratitude. “Your kindness, encouragement, and involvement help keep Summerfield Park vibrant, joyful, and caring.
