Highlights for 2024
This year has been extraordinary for the Sundowner community. Highlights include the successful Halloween event at Sundowner Spruit Park, a stronger neighbourhood watch programme, and welcoming new members to our board of directors, such as Tania Redelinghuys, whose dedication has been a blessing to our team.
Local hero
Our local hero for 2024 is Ross Krul. He has gone above and beyond for the Sundowner community, always available to help, often at his own cost. Ross dedicates himself to the Community Policing Forum (CPF), actively patrolling to ensure our neighbourhood’s safety. He even takes the initiative to weld broken fences and assist residents whenever they need support. His selflessness and commitment have made a significant difference in our community.

Challenges faced and solutions
One significant challenge has been maintaining a sense of connection within the community, amid rising concerns around safety and infrastructure. We’ve overcome this through better communication, community events, and strengthening partnerships with local authorities.
Christmas wish
My wish is for our association to receive more volunteer support and resources to expand our projects, particularly around community safety and beautification. We’d also welcome sponsorships for our initiatives to ease the financial load on residents.
Message to the community
I wish all Sundowner residents a safe, joyous, and peaceful festive season. May this time bring rest and renewal, and may we enter 2025 with hope and resilience.
