Radley Private Primary School principal Charne De Gouveia takes a look back at the year and wishes the community a happy holiday season.
“As we approach the end of 2024, we look back on a year that was truly centred around gratitude. At Radley Private School Primary School, our theme for the year was about appreciating every opportunity that came our way, and we have so much to celebrate.”
She said this year, their young entrepreneurs were inspired by business visits, guest speakers, and hands-on experiences that fuelled their entrepreneurial journeys. “With their commitment, perseverance, and hard work, many of our learners achieved their academic targets, a testament to the true entrepreneurial qualities we aim to cultivate.”

Among her highlights of 2024 was the unforgettable Grade 6 and 7 entrepreneurial leadership camp, which included Grade 8s and 9s from the high school, fostering a sense of community and leadership skills.
“Our public talk on Raising Successful Children as a Single Parent resonated deeply and became one of our most well-attended events, uniting our Radley community. Three of our entrepreneurs were also featured on the Nedbank Pitch and Polish 2024, sharing invaluable feedback with adult entrepreneurs. Securing Umalusi accreditation for our new property was another significant achievement, solidifying our commitment to excellence in education.”
She added they faced some challenges too, especially the surge of flu season absences, but the Radley spirit and support from the community helped them navigate these tough times. “Initiatives like the termly Top Academic Achiever Lunch have motivated students to excel and inspired everyone to keep reaching higher.”
