Ward councillor welcomes residents to 2025
Emi Koekemoer, Ward 104 councillor, looks ahead into the new year.
Emi Koekemoer, Ward 104 councillor, welcomes back the residents from the holidays. “I hope residents had a safe return after the holidays.”
She explained that in 2025 she hopes to shed the spotlight on the green spaces in Ward 104. “We are incredibly blessed with the number of parks and open spaces we have, however, they remain underutilised as they are not adequately maintained. I hope to change that in 2025.”

Next year, she looks forward to the continued growth of residents’ associations (RAs) and their impact. She feels their contribution to the ward is invaluable.
Koekemoer encourages residents to look and log all the issues around them to entities as many times as possible. “If the city doesn’t know something is wrong, they cannot fix it. Support your local RAs. They do more than you imagine, and get involved in clean ups, CPFs, and community groups. It will take an ‘all-of society’ approach to turn the ship around.”
