Police investigate death of woman found in Blairgowrie

An inquest is underway after police confirmed the discovery of a woman’s body in Blairgowrie, with investigations continuing to establish the cause and circumstances.

Police have opened an inquest after the body of a woman was discovered on Blairgowrie Drive this past weekend.

Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, spokesperson for the police, confirmed that officers responded to the scene and that an investigation is underway.

“An inquest has been opened after a female victim was found on Blairgowrie Drive, and police investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” she said.

This latest case comes just a few weeks after another body was found in Blairgowrie, leaving residents unsettled by these recent incidents. Community members have voiced concern about safety in the suburb, with some saying the discoveries have highlighted the need for stronger police visibility.

Police have not released further information about the identity of the woman or the cause of death.
