Jean explained that passersby also noticed the body early in the morning. One even said that they saw him foaming at the mouth.

Jean made numerous calls to the police, but ended up eventually flagged down a SAPS patrol car from Parkview Police Station for assistance. Unfortunately, where the body is lying does not fall under the jurisdiction of Parkview Police Station, instead falling under Randburg Police station.
