Rand Park High celebrates record-breaking matric success
With 354 distinctions and several top achievers, Rand Park High School’s matric Class of 2025 has set a new academic benchmark.
Rand Park High School has marked an outstanding set of National Senior Certificate results, celebrating a record-breaking matric Class of 2025.
A total of 315 learners wrote the final examinations, making this the largest matric class in the school’s history. The class achieved a strong 99.4% pass rate, with 83% securing Bachelor’s Degree passes. Overall, 97% of learners qualified for tertiary studies.
Academic excellence was reflected in the 354 distinctions achieved across subjects.

Top honours went to Connor Lee, who earned eight distinctions, including accounting (97%), mathematics (96%), engineering graphics and design (94%), physical sciences (93%), and further studies mathematics (90%).
Jenna Katzenstein followed closely with seven distinctions and an impressive overall average of 93%. Her top marks included life orientation (99%), accounting (98%), life sciences (95%) and Afrikaans first additional language (93%).

Five other learners also achieved seven distinctions. They are Senuri Govender, the 2025 head girl, Chloe Matthew, Seth Derbyshire, Jenna Bidgood, and Keabetswe Mapasha. Derbyshire stood out with 97% for mathematics and 96% for information technology.
Eight learners achieved six distinctions each: Daniel De Villiers, Chiamaka Malatji, Carmen Maree, Vimbainashe Marimira, Brooklyn McGregor, Megan Raman, Quinn Viljoen, and Murendeni Ramano.
Further studies mathematics results were another highlight. Seven learners earned distinctions in the subject, with Seth leading on 96%, followed by Murendeni (94%), and Connor (90%). Brooklyn, Daniel, Jenna, and Chiamaka also achieved distinctions.
The school praised the hard work of its matric class, while also recognising the commitment of teachers, staff, and parents who supported learners throughout their final school year.
