Kingsway Christian Primary School turns 40 years

Kingsway Christian Primary School in Randburg is celebrating 40 years of faith, community and academic excellence, with its 2026 leaders ready to carry the legacy forward.

Kingsway Christian Primary School in Randburg is celebrating a milestone this year, 40 years of shaping young minds, nurturing faith, and building community.
And if you want to know what the school stands for, you need only listen to the learners who carry its legacy forward.

The school’s newly appointed 2026 leadership team, head boy Kamogelo Segooa and head girl Chanelle Sithole, joined by their fellow leaders, wasted no time in making their mark. Their words captured something that four decades of good schooling tend to produce: young people who are grounded, grateful, and ready to lead.

“Kingsway is the best school I have been to,” said Chanelle. “I love that it teaches us about the love of God and to love one another, alongside the teaching of our wonderful teachers. As a Kingsway learner, I follow our motto every day: I arise, and I shine bright in my academics.”

Kamogelo was equally clear-eyed about the responsibility ahead. “We leaders have great examples from the past and will work together to bring light and brightness to our school,” he said, with a nod to the school’s motto.

For many of these young people, Kingsway is far more than a place of learning. “Kingsway is my second home, a place where I learned to heal and grow,” said fellow learner Sethabile Mkhwanazi. “It helped me when I felt lonely and helpless. God’s place, too.”

Nonhle Nzimande put it simply: “Kingsway is a home to every learner. A place I cherish, a place I get to be close with God, a place where I feel comfortable,” while Mulanga Ndou added, “We have shared many good and bad times, but still forgive and laugh it off. Kingsway has always encouraged us to shine brighter, and we will succeed by trusting and knowing God will be there through each journey.”

Pearl Modiba captured the mood of the new intake: “2026 leaders are determined to uphold 40 years of good legacy, new leaders, new followers, new visionaries. Let the year begin.”

Kingsway is a subsidised independent school that has long relied on its community, parents, donors, and supporters who step in where help is needed. Forty years in, the school shows no signs of slowing down. If the Class of 2026 is anything to go by, the best may still be ahead.
