The initiative began when the church youth reached out to Kingsway Christian School to ask how they could help. They were informed that 250 pairs of school shoes were urgently needed. Determined to make a difference, the group embarked on a mission to raise the necessary funds to meet this need.

While searching for solutions, they discovered MyWalk, a unique partnership between Adcock Ingram Critical Care and Netcare. This initiative produces school shoes from recycled non-hazardous medical materials, such as drip bags and oxygen masks. Not only are the shoes eco-friendly, but they are also durable, affordable, and impactful. Each pair costs only R35.

With this in mind, the youth launched a fundraising campaign to collect the money required for the shoes. Through sheer dedication, and the support of their church and broader community, they achieved their goal and partnered with MyWalk to turn their vision into reality.
