Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds AGM
The Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its annual general meeting at the Apollo Hotel on Wednesday, electing a new board and hearing reports on the past year.
The Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) held its annual general meeting at the Apollo Hotel in Randburg on June 25, bringing together members, guests, and business leaders from across the area.
The meeting was divided into two parts. The first session was open to members and guests, while the second was restricted to RCCI members only.

Programme director Richard Ntjana opened and welcomed attendees in both sessions, while RCCI president Manjush Mathews delivered the president’s report, in which he acknowledged the resilience of the business community over the past year, despite ongoing economic challenges. In his report, Mathews said the chamber had remained focused on creating opportunities for networking, business growth, skills development, and advocacy on issues affecting local enterprises. He added that the organisation had strengthened connections between businesses, government, and community organisations through its events, partnerships, and stakeholder engagements.

Mathews also highlighted the chamber’s adoption of digital platforms to improve communication and increase member participation. He extended his gratitude to members, sponsors, partners, directors, and volunteers for their continued support.

The keynote address was delivered by Danny Vengedasamy, manager of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI). Neil Pollock, RCCI past president and SACCI vice president, introduced Vengedasamy to the floor.

Mary Gillett-de Klerk, who serves as both an RCCI and RPMD board member and as precinct general manager, presented on the Randburg CBD revitalisation, described as an initiative of the RCCI.

The members-only portion of the meeting included the RCCI’s financial report, presented by the accounting officer Venisia van Greenen, followed by a general Q&A session.
The meeting also featured nominations and voting for the newly elected board, including positions for president, vice president, and sub-committees.
The newly elected board was announced at the close of proceedings, with the incoming president delivering a closing address before networking and departure.
