SAPS, private security, the CPF and the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) said they will continue to monitor the area and will provide further updates if needed.
Zandspruit resident David Selete, who took part in the march, told the Randburg Sun that residents were unhappy about limited opportunities for locals to run tuck shops in the area. He also expressed concern about land use in Zandspruit, saying that some community members felt spaces were being occupied in ways they believed were unfair to locals.

Although the official march has ended, some residents are reported to still be marching in the area without the supervision of law enforcement.
