I have asked Tokyo Sexwale to restore our suburb and the entire region to peace for all. We had a site meeting with a delegation from his office. I met again with Director of Special Investigations National Department for Human Settlements Mbongeni Shabangu in Midrand together with Region A Housing Jo-Anne Atkins and others to discuss restoration of our region. Eric Dolphin of Bloubosrand was also present.

The meeting chaired by Ward 96 councillor Matome Mafokwane was cordial. I was given full assurance that much work is underway to resolve the whole situation for which I am very grateful, but I still insist on meeting Sexwale in person. As an ex-freedom fighter he surely embraces justice and truth. Members of my Hungarian family were also freedom fighters. Our metropolitan council has not treated our region fairly to put it mildly, service delivery is lacking and everything just takes too long.

We know the only way to keep a suburb safe is 24-hour proactive patrolling. We were practically crime free for a long time when I was overseeing security. Right now we have no proactive security company in our area. Community patrolling would work very well if residents would become active.
