Just another Talk and Empty Promises Show?
Does Major Parks Tau not realise that ratepayers are sick and tired of hearing empty promises and seeing our money being stolen by corruption and mismanagement in city council?
The biggest ever Budget will be presented. Rates and service fees will again increase in excess of the official inflation rate. Yet, notwithstanding ever-increasing revenues, our infrastructure and service levels has deteriorated steadily over the years. Even the disadvantaged and poor have not benefited from all the promises and actions undertaken – too much of the allocations for these have been lost due to corruption and shoddy workmanship by crony tenderpreneurs and an inappropriate staff compliment.
When will the government understand that money alone does not fix problems and that you need competent people to implement and conclude projects successfully?
Hopefully the voters will remember all this at the next election and boot out these incompetent, self-serving so-called City Fathers. One can only hope that some day soon competent and ethical people will be managing Johannesburg to return it to its former title of THE CITY in Africa, a city its residents and the country can be proud of and not just a transit venue for tourists passing through to visit the beautiful venues our country has to offer.
