Casual Day is one of the most important fundraising events for organisations supporting persons with disabilities. The Ann Harding Cheshire Home has been participating in Casual Day for several years and it helps us to raise much needed funds to keep standards at our home high.
This year the theme is GO BIG!, which can be interpreted in any way possible. We are trying to sell double the number of stickers that we sold last year. This is ambitious and we will not be able to do it without your help.
We are asking everyone to order stickers from us. We will have the stickers delivered to your office or school etc and you can deposit the money directly into our bank account, what could be easier? If you prefer we can come into your offices, and sell the stickers ourselves.
Stickers are R10 each and Casual Day is on 6 September. The Ann Harding Cheshire Home is a 24-hour residential care facility for adults who have a physical disability. An interesting fact is that the majority of our residents are not here due to congenital or other illnesses. The majority are here because they have suffered some sort of trauma such as motor vehicle accidents or victims of crime.
These people never imagined that they would spend the rest of their lives in a home for people with physical disabilities, or in many cases, in a wheelchair. This could happen to any one of us, our lives could also change in the blink of an eye.
