As we are so often quick to criticise and complain about incompetencies and corruption, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly acknowledge the commitment and thinking that one can observe at the Randburg Driver’s Licence Renewals.

There is a system in place that all involved in are committed to ensuring it works – and it does.

Once one is in the building the process takes less than an hour and one’s Renewal is processed and paid for.

There is a system that gets one into the building in an ordered fashion, preventing bottle necks from developing.

The staff tackle their assignments with warmth, politeness and patience even when questions are asked in an obviously patronising tone. Inside, the building is clean and in the waiting area, someone has taken the trouble to place a colourful plastic flower arrangement which distracts one from the obvious institutional feel of the building.

Improvements needed – it would be constructive and healthy for both the staff and the visitors to also see that Maintenance on the Buildings is being thought about.

It is clear that paintwork and general repairs on the infrastructure are necessary and I’m sure if this could happen the staff would feel even more proud of their accomplishments and their work area.

Well done and thank you for your efforts to create a system that works.

For the visitor, one leaves with a sense of accomplishment and positive thoughts.

This can only be healthy for the general well-being of all.
