Randburg squash edges Parkview

BLAIRGOWRIE – Injured player pulls off upset, allowing Randburg Squash Club men's B team to win.

Randburg Squash Club won one over Parkview Squash Centre on 22 May, thanks largely to a heroic performance by injured Ian Horrell.

Playing in the second league at the Randburg Squash Club in Blairgowrie, Randburg’s men’s B team defeated the Parkview C team eight games to seven .

Randburg’s Ian Horrell played against Parkview’s Paul Vermaak.

After winning the first game, Horrell pulled a calf muscle and struggled for the rest of the match.

He lost 2–3, but the game he won while injured proved to be the decider, leading to a memorable victory for the players and fans.

Randburg’s Captain Kevin James beat Parkview’s Mark Wigtenburg 3–1.

Randburg’s Rob Abrams beat Parkview’s Carl Rogers 3–0.

Randburg’s Johan Pieterse lost to Parkview’s Chris Torchi 0–3.
