Topflite squashes all

BLAIRGOWRIE – Company wins two squash business leagues in one year.

Topflite Asset Management crushed all opposition in the Randburg Squash Club’s two business leagues this year.

The club in Blairgowrie held its last matches for the Summer Business League on 9 December, before presenting its prize-giving for that league, as well as the 2014 Main Business League that ended in September.

Topflite won the main league for a fourth time in a row, while also beating First Choice Flooring 9–6 in the summer league final.

“It feels good to have won both leagues,” said Topflite’s captain Eldon Slabbert.

“The [main] league has been very competitive this year. Because we won the past three years they have all been going for us.”

The business’s co-owner Ralph Ririe also played in the winning team.

“These are my boys,” he said. “They are a bit long in the tooth but they can play.”

During the prize-giving, Randburg Squash Club co-owner Bob Mallac said that the business leagues at the club are very competitive, and are the best in Johannesburg.

Then the club’s manager Marc de Villiers presented the awards. Topflite won four squash rackets, each worth R1 200, for the Main Business League, and solar-heated lamps and bottles of wine for the Summer Business League. Smaller awards were handed out to the runners-up.
