Coach takes players to greater heights

BOSKRUIN –Tennis coach believes that players should always work hard and strive to do their best.

Kinetik Tennis Academy coach, Allan Flint is passionate about developing junior and senior tennis players skills.

The Boskruin resident offers private lessons at the Fairland Tennis Club, Olivedale Tennis Club and coaches tennis at Randpark Primary School.

Flint said he was also appointed as the Southern Gauteng Tennis Association event coordinator in 2013. He met various people who are involved in the association, which led him to want to work with them.

“I started playing tennis when I was six years old and played it up until university level. I studied sports management at the University of Johannesburg and graduated in 2009. I have always wanted to be involved in sports, whether it is with the management or the coaching side,” said Flint.

“Working with pupils from Randpark Primary School is going very well. I currently coach 200 players at the school and try to improve their skills to eventually play at a higher level. The seniors participate in a number of top tennis tournaments such as the last Inter–School Tennis Tournament, and also travel overseas,” explained Flint.

When heavy rainfall prevents play, Flint says he tries not to cancel practice but rather focus on training the fitness level, tactical and mental development of players.

He advises tennis players to work hard, try their best at all times. This will assist in developing their skills and to play at a higher level.
