Young sportsmen hone their hockey and cricket skills at Rand Park’s holiday clinic
RANDPARK RIDGE – Young sporting enthusiasts keep their hockey and cricket skills sharp during the holidays.
Rand Park High School hosted its holiday cricket and hockey clinic for young talent from local primary schools.
The much-enjoyed annual clinic took place at the high school and Randburg hockey fields on 3 and 4 July. Dozens of excited cricket and hockey players participated in the clinic to brush up their skills as well as to keep them fresh during the school holiday period.

The clinic also brings young like-minded sportsmen together to practice their game at high school level. Rand Park High School principal, Alan Wilke said, “The children get to experience what it is like to play at our high school. Our sports captains and first team players run the cricket and hockey players through drills they themselves use. It is a great way for them to have fun while sharpening their skills.”

The hockey girls had a fantastic time honing in on their dribbling, passing and shooting handy work. For many it was the first time they were able to play their beloved sport at Randburg hockey greens. Cricket players got their chance in the high school’s batting cages.
