Old Parks seeks to develop youth football talent

BORDEAUX – Old Parks Football Club is encouraging more youth to join its ranks.

Old Parks Football Club is encouraging more youth to join its ranks after the club recently hosted a registration day on 21 February.

“We have great facilities here both for intense hands-on training in the development of young sporting talent, and a spot of relaxation for parents afterwards,” said the club’s director of football Gary Roodt. Roodt has played football for more than 27 years and played for Orlando Pirates at age 14. He said he loved every minute of coaching at Old Parks.

“The boys and girls who join us always have a great attitude. The main thing about Old Parks is that we like to see ourselves as a family club where every rising star, no matter their level of skill, we are here to help them be the best they can be.” Club members can enjoy the coaching of expert ex-footballers such as Mamelodi Sundowns player Eric Ramasike.

“I have been at Old Parks for the past four years now and I love every minute of it. The club is definitely growing, and it’s always great to see more kids join our ranks,” said Ramasike. Roodt said the club was always looking for new members, and aspiring young footballers are encouraged to get in contact.
