Linden’s Keaton Gomes defends SA and ABU titles
Local boxer defends two titles about six months after winning them.
Keaton Gomes successfully defended two heavyweight titles when he knocked his opponent out in the fourth round.

The Linden boxer defended his South African and African Boxing Union titles, which he won late last year, by sending former SA champion Josh ‘The Red Beast’ to the canvas during the undercard of The Eliminator Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace on May 13.

After Pretorius wasn’t able to get up he was counted out at the 1:10 mark, giving Gomes a well-deserved victory and taking the latter’s record to 10 wins (including eight knockouts) and two losses.

On hand ringside to congratulate Gomes after his triumph was South African professional mixed martial artist, currently competing in the middleweight division of the UFC, Dricus ‘Stillknocks’ du Plessis.
