North Riding boxer Kaine K9 Fourie is on the rise again

Local hard puncher Kaine Fourie is getting ready to face the highly rated Claudio Daneff from Argentina in an IBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Title.

Local boxer Kaine ‘K9’ Fourie is on the rise again following the setback earlier in the year when he suffered a first-round technical knockout defeat by the Zambian Simon Ngoma.

Since the loss, the talented boxer has bounced back stronger. After losing his unbeaten record, the North Riding boxer redeemed himself with a well-deserved fifth-round win against Sifiso Hlongwane.

K9 again put on a clinical display against Oumpie Sibeko, knocking him out cold in the second round of an 8-round bout in the lightweight division.

He showed signs of maturity, improvement, and hunger in the ring. Speaking to NO Doubt Management, he said that he knew Sibeko would rush him.

“I just needed to stay tight and pick my shots. After the first round, my corner told me to get my jab going.”

The young and dynamic puncher, Fourie, was calm and collected, using his jabs effectively. At the beginning of the second round, he maintained a good distance when landing a clean right hand down the middle, knocking down Sibeko.

Sibeko shook it off and beat the count. With K9 smelling blood, he came at him hard and sent Sibeko flying on the ropes and knocked him out cold.

The referee had no choice but to stop the contest.

Fourie improves his professional record to 11 wins (9 KOs), a single loss, and two draws. The fearless fighter is now gearing up for the highly rated Claudio Daneff from Argentina for the IBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Title.

The 10-round bout, ‘Sandton Mayhem’, under Aquila Boxing Promotions is scheduled to take place on November 1.
