Resa U19 stun Randburg AFC U19 with late win

Remember Elite Sports Academy beat Randburg AFC 1-0 at Randburg Stadium, despite their hosts dominating large parts of the match.

Randburg AFC U19 welcomed Remember Elite Sports Academy (Resa) U19 to Randburg Stadium, but it was the visitors who left with all three points after a 1-0 win that came against the run of play.

Despite Randburg AFC enjoying more of the ball and creating the better chances, Resa found the back of the net at a crucial moment and held firm to seal a narrow but valuable victory.

Speaking after the match, Resa U19 coach Bongani Twala praised his side for a strong display against a tough opponent.

He explained that the two teams sit close together in the league standings, with Randburg AFC in sixth place and Resa just above them in fifth, making it a closely contested fixture.

He added that having Randburg just above them in the table served as extra motivation heading into the match.

According to Twala, it was important for him to keep that target in the minds of his players and remind them how much the result mattered before kick off.
