Crusaders got their Rand Central Local Football Association campaign off to a winning start, defeating Valley 4-1 in an entertaining opening-day fixture.

The match started at a fast pace, with both sides eager to begin the season on a positive note. Crusaders enjoyed the upper hand in the opening minutes and quickly made their pressure count.

After winning a free kick in a promising position, Kholofelo Selota executed it perfectly to take an early lead.

Valley settled into their rhythm and responded by playing their familiar style of football. The home side pushed forward with greater purpose, creating several opportunities as they searched for an equaliser. Their persistence paid off when they won possession in their opponents’ half and quickly turned the opportunity into a goal to level the scores.

Crusaders refused to be unsettled. They continued pressing forward and began frustrating the Valley defence with their attacking intensity.

Their efforts were rewarded when they were awarded a penalty. Selota stepped up to convert it and restored their lead before the break.

The visitors returned for the second half with even greater determination. Their pressure eventually paid off as Gerald Ndlovu found the back of the net, extending their advantage and putting Valley under further pressure.

With changes made as the match progressed, Crusaders maintained control, and Simba Zvimba added another goal to complete a convincing 4-1 victory.

The result handed Crusaders all three points and the perfect start to their season.
