Concert at Garden Village
BORDEAUX - Sandton Choir performs a musical extravaganza for residents of Garden Village Retirement home.
Residents of Garden Village Retirement Home in Bordeaux were thoroughly entertained by Sandton Choir at a concert held on 11 September at the home.
The audience was treated to a range of musical items, bringing back fond memories and a smile or a tear to many of the residents.
Grateful thanks went to accompanist Bronwyn Raaths, who stepped into her role at the eleventh hour when the choir’s accompanist was unexpectedly called away on a business trip.
Sandton Choir is now going into rehearsal for its Christmas carol season and is currently recruiting members for concerts to be performed at various venues around the city over the festive season.
The choir sings in four-part harmony and the requirements for new members are a good singing voice and an ear for music.
For those who can’t read music which, incidentally, includes Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, a few basic theory sessions will be provided.
The choir meets every Thursday evening at 7pm at the Methodist Hall in Randburg (Corner Oak Avenue and Grove Street, next to MultiChoice).
