Getroud met Rugby back with a bang
MALANSHOF – Getroud met rugby will be seen as a soap opera with an new exciting story line.

Sports scenes from the popular series Getroud met Rugby are shot at special local locations.
Fans can look forward to a revamped version of the show returning to television on DSTV.
The series will be seen by viewers as a soap opera for the first time from 4 April.
Getroud met Rugby production coordinator, Gena du Plessis said that the soapie that has been on screen since 2008, is about the lives and relationships of rugby players. People can expect to cry and laugh, all in one episode.
“We shoot 20 per cent of our production outside the studio. Rugby scenes are shot at the Diggers Rugby Football Club. Other scenes are shot at Atlas Studios in Auckland Park. A number of well-known actors such as Nadia Beukes, Altus Theart, and Werner Coetser are part of the production,” explained Du Plessis.
She added that the success of the production is all about managing people, understanding the needs of the production and a lot of teamwork.
Getroud met Rugby director Luhan Jansen said that the soapie is now a family show that is less gritty than before.
“Viewers can expect a great story line that everyone can relate to, with great characters and acting. The show will be on air from Monday to Friday at 6.30pm on KykNet ,” said Jansen.
