Good Food and Wine Show 2016

NORTH RIDING – The Good Food and Wine show explodes with interactive displays and sections.

Foodies and wine gurus flocked to the much-anticipated Good Food and Wine Show (GFWS) at the TicketPro Dome this past weekend.

This year’s emphasis was definitely on the interactive side of the event. Foodies and chef fans were delighted to discover that the chef theatre was opened to all. Celebrity chefs and restaurateurs such as MasterChef Australia’s co-judge, George Calombaris delighted audiences. Another Aussie favourite, Matt Moran, displayed his amazing skills in the kitchen as well as answered audiences’ questions and tips about cooking.

‘Wanna-be-cooks’ got the opportunity to tag team with a partner and cook in South Africa’s darling, Jenny Morris’s, kitchen. Bakers got their money’s worth with the baking theatre which included live demonstrations.

There was a great variety of speciality food stalls such as Halaal, Mexican, Venezuelan and Chinese. Health food fanatics were not left disappointed with many stalls focusing on organic and healthy food choices.

Typical favourites enchanted GFWS visitors such as C-Side Oysters, Curry For Dummies as well the wine mile.

Of course, the extensive number of South African wine stalls pandered to the tastes of wine connoisseurs. Cocktail lovers were treated to a wide variety of vodkas, gins, beers as well as liqueurs.

In totality GFWS 2016 lived up to its promises to entertain crowds of food and wine lovers.
