Eco Festival at North Rand methodist Church

NORTH RIDING – Support local festival and promote the education of a healthy environment.

The Eco Festival will be held at North Rand Methodist Church on 29 October.

The festival is being run to raise funds for the church’s environmental ministry, Eco Sanctuary, which educates people about the importance of protecting and preserving the environment and all of its creatures.

The church has many outreach programmes to people in and beyond neighbouring communities including a feeding scheme in Kya Sand, a counselling programme for prisoners at Leeuwkop Prison, and also concerns itself with the plight of animals and the neglect of the environment. “If we don’t take care of our environment, mankind and nature are doomed,” said a member of North Rand Methodist Church, Susan Mottram.

The festival will be packed with family-oriented activities and stalls that will sell all sorts of interesting products and delicious eats. Some lovely prizes have been donated including 20 movie tickets and a meal voucher for R750 from Montecasino. There’s also a helicopter flip for the winner of the draw plus five of the winner’s family members and/or friends.

The festival will start at 10am and finish at 4pm.

“We still have space available for anyone wanting to hire a stall and sell their products at the festival. The cost of a stall is R300 excluding the supply of a gazebo and power (which would cost only another R120),” added Mottram.

Venue: North Rand Methodist Church, 174 Blandford Road, North Riding.
