Curro Aurora in Sundowner impresses at national cheerleading competition

SUNDOWNER – Curro Aurora impresses at the annual South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association National Competition.

At this year’s 41st annual South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association National Competition, Curro Aurora brought back two second place wins in two separate divisions.

Curro Blues, the high school cheerleading team, competed in the all girl and co-ed divisions. After many hours of training, they managed to secure silver place.

The team’s manager, Steve Krause said it was a remarkable achievement as the team is in its first year of participating in the these two divisions. “Competitive cheerleading is an international sport and this year has been listed, provisionally as an Olympic sport,” said Krause. Adding that the placing gave the team a strong incentive to continue to excel within the sport.
