New character to grace our screen

RANDBURG – Actress, dancer and overall beauty, Tema Sebopedi, having graced our screens since the early 2000s, will be on our TV screens again

With the new episode releasing, Sebopedi enters the hit drama series, The Throne. “I’m coming in as a new character. It’s exciting. It’s something unlike I’ve done before. Just to give the viewers something to look forward to, my character plays a role that is much needed and viewers can get excited.” In the TV world, the general consensus is that the bad guys always get away with things. Sebopedi’s character, however, is doing things a little differently.

“Expect that there will be justice. Yes, bad things do happen to good people but justice will be served and that’s exactly what I’m coming to serve.” She mentioned that this role was extremely challenging but extremely rewarding at the same time.

“I’m coming on as Sello Morule’s first wife. No one would have seen it coming because he has been hiding her so she will appear quite dramatically and publicly. In terms of the character, she was the juicy meat I was looking for. It was nice exploring kind of a darker side of me. It was nice exploring the wrong side.”

After moving on from Isidingo, Sebopedi welcomes her growth as an actress. She said that constant growth and improvement is part of the journey and she’s always gravitating towards it. “It’s exciting to be working on a new project – it was a dream come true working with Ferguson Films, it was everything I’ve asked for and I definitely hope it’s not the last time.”

She finds it difficult to describe in words what she does as it is rather a feeling of being free and liberated. While dancing is her first love, she loves being someone else while on screen. “I don’t even care to be on screen but just being in a character.

I remember when I was younger and I was writing down my dreams, I wrote that I wish to act for the rest of my life regardless if anybody is watching, just as long as I get to do it for the rest of my life.” Her hopes for the future are to one day get married, have children, live outside of South Africa and eventually meet with Newest cast member of Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey.
