Aircraft Association hosts breakfast fly-in
The Experimental Aircraft Association boasts with a successful breakfast fly-in at Cross Winds Airfield in Tarlton.
Tarlton — Chapter 973 of the Experimental Aircraft Association recently hosted a breakfast fly-in at Cross Winds Airfield, opposite Tarlton International Raceway.
According to the chapter secretary, Melissa de Beer, this event proved to be a great success and they surely will plan similar events in the future.
Melissa explains that Chapter 973 of the EAA is based at the Jack Tailor Airfield in Krugerdorp but they decided to host the breakfast fly-in at Cross Winds Airfield.
“The reason why we hosted this event was to raise funds to start construction on our own Chapter 973 hanger at Jack Tailor Airfield. The day was a staggering success and small aircrafts from far and wide attended the breakfast,” says Melissa.
To give everyone present a great day of entertainment, the Chain Gang from Cross Winds Airfield hosted an airshow where they amazed the crowd with their bizarre skills in their small aircrafts. This airshow was one of the many highlights of the day.
“We also gave people who are interested in aviation the chance to learn more about small aircrafts and other fun facts associated with this career choice,” says Melissa.
She adds that anyone who is interested in following a career in aviation is more than welcome to attend one of their club meetings at Jack Tailor Airfield.
