CPF holds massive awareness parades

We want people to be aware of the criminal element in their communities.

The Randfontein Community Policing Forum (CPF) together with the Randfontein SAPS and the Randfontein Traffic Department went on a parade through Greenhills on 27 August at approximately 7pm.

Residents joined the parade with more than 30 vehicles in a convoy through Greenhills to raise awareness of the CPF and its mandate, as well as create visibility of the CPF officers and the sector vehicles.

According to the Public Relations Officer for the Randfontein CPF Executive Committee, Warren Anderson, this is just one of their many parades throughout the different sectors in town.

“We started our parade in a portion of Greenhills on 26 August and the turnout was amazing.

“Residents came to enquire about the CPF and that is what we want. We want people to be aware of the criminal element in their communities and join us in our fight against crime.

“We also encourage them to be more aware of their surroundings and ensure that they are safe at all times.

“People need to get into the habbit of reporting criminal incidents or suspects in their communities,” says Anderson.

He adds that residents need to take note that the CPF is working together with the police, the municipality, ER24, local security companies and other relevant entities.

If you wish to join the CPF on one of their parades, residents can contact Anderson on 073 076 0067.

The CPF committee and the relevant entities will gather at the following places for the remaining parades:

On Thursday 29 August, they are set to meet at the Pick n Pay in Culemborg Park at 7pm and will meet at the Randgate Spar at on 30 August at 7pm.

Residents can join in on the massive parade scheduled to take place on 31 August on Randfontein Main Road.

The committee will meet at the Randfontein SAPS at 10am.
