A recent CPF meeting shed some light on the burning issue of house robberies in Randfontein and shows that the problem is much larger than most people realise.
Police who attended the meeting reported to the gathered residents that in Greenhills alone, there were 26 reported house robbery incidents during Septemebr alone.
According to the Randfontein CPF Public Relations Officer Warren Anderson these statistics are indicative that crime is rife in Randfontein.
“If anything, these statistics paint a clear picture of what the crime situation looks like in Randfontein.
Änderson says that a proper alarm system is no longer a luxury, but an absolute neccessity.
“Äs residents of Randfontein we have no choices when it comes to ensuring the safety of our families and the security of our homes.
“We call on Randfontein all Randfontein residents to join the structures of the CPF and to assist us and the police to make this town safe for our children again.”
Anderson has also advised that residents make a point of getting to know their neighbours.
“You don’t have to become best friends, but at least make sure you have each other’s phone numbers in case of emergency.
“Goon neighbourlyness can also go a long way in fighting crime because by looking out not only for ourselves, but for each other, we learn to stand together as a community.”
Anderson has urged residents to keep safe and to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
